Physical Chemistry Internet Sites - Chemical Thermodynamics

This is a list of sources related to Chemical Thermodynamics. The list will continue to grow. Suggestions are welcome.

The Hilsch-Ranque Tube
A simple device to separate gas molecules with high kinetic energy from gas molecules with low kinetic energy. Air enters at room temperature and spontaneously separates into hot air and cold air. If you don't wish to build your own, you can buy a Hilsch-Ranque tube here.

All About Entropy
It's just what it says.

Transition State Theory
An object with no internal energy (no vibrations, no rotations) bounces off a wall, converting translational energy to internal modes.

Fun Simulations in Physical Chemistry
It's just what it says. I recommend "Happy Molecules" and "The Ideal Atmosphere."

Entropy Rap
An entropy ballad set to contemporary style performed by Rapmaster Stephen Hawking. "... Raunchy, hilarious and amazingly well executed." The LA Times

Orgone Energy
The Law of Conservation of Energy has grown incrementally since Leibnitz noted the conversion of kinetic energy to potential energy in 1693. Joule added internal energy and so it continued until Einstein showed matter was a form of energy. This site proposes yet another form: Orgone Energy. Before you update your textbook you should read an alternative viewpoint.

Energy Not Conserved?
New technology extracts hydrogen and oxygen from water, then using the "reverse reactant process" recombines hydrogen and oxygen and produces more energy than needed to produce hydrogen and oxygen from water.

Patented Perpetual Motion
Water spontaneously siphons to a height sufficent to drive a turbine and generate electricity. And how does one entice water to go uphill? The patented process uses a series of small steps. Apparently the quality of patent reviewers has decreased in the years since Einstein started his career.
